 Introduction of CSS:

The Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP) is a merit-based system of appointment to various positions in the government of Pakistan. The CSP exam is conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) and is generally held once a year.

The CSP exam is a competitive examination that consists of written tests, an oral test, and an interview. The written tests cover a wide range of subjects, including English, Urdu, Islamiat, current affairs, Pakistan affairs, international relations, and general knowledge. The oral test consists of a viva voce (oral interview) on the subjects studied in the written tests. The final selection for the CSP is based on the candidate's performance in the written tests, oral test, and interview.

The CSP is divided into two main categories: the Administrative Service (also known as the Pakistan Administrative Service or PAS) and the Police Service of Pakistan (also known as the Pakistan Police Service or PPS). The Administrative Service is responsible for the administration and management of the government, while the Police Service is responsible for maintaining law and order in the country.

Candidates who pass the CSP exam and are selected for the Civil Service undergo a training program at the Civil Services Academy in Lahore. After completing the training program, they are posted to various positions in the government. The CSP is highly competitive and only a small percentage of candidates who apply for the exam are selected for the Civil Service.
